A Reminder for This Saturday!

Tiffany & Co. will unveil limited edition pendant and perpetual trophy created with local icon Sig Zane of the Moku O Keawe Foundation at kick-off event to celebrate the Foundation’s second annual hula festival in November.

The perpetual hula trophy, a sculpted pyramid which embodies energy, tradition and the binding relationship with nature that defines hula and its chants, was crafted by Tiffany & Co. in partnership with Zane. The sterling silver pendant was created to represent one voice, so while the journey of each owner will be different, its story will share purpose, culture, and the perpetuation of history.
The kick-off will include a fashion show revealing Zane’s 2008 Wailani Collection, Calabash Auction of 2007 Moku O Keawe poster art by Kathy Long, an exhibition of island hula halau, and art exhibits highlighting local artists

News About New Items & County Fair!

Are you ready for the weekend? It's not going to be a "kick back & relax!" type of a weekend for me (I'm a mommy!), but there's lots of exciting things happening!

For those of you who're looking for something new, we got something very new at Sig Zane Designs! The lady's Pua Ka Hinano dresses (came in yesterday) & men's Kiikau Shirts (came in early this week) in new colors/prints!
Sweetie, our Hilo Store Manager, has one of the new Pua Ka Hinano dresses on. I swear, this is the best "hot & sunny day" dresses...

こちらはやっと又金曜日がやって来ました～！
いつもばたばたと過ぎ去っていく週末が、今週末は特に毎日数珠つながりのイベント目白押し!ハァ～っと溜息付いている場合では有りません♪
こちらシグ・ゼーン・デザインズでは新商品到着で～す!女性用プア・カ・ヒナノ・ドレスと
男性用キイカウ・アロハシャツが新しい色とプリントで入荷しました。ヒロ店の店長スウィ-ティ-が着ているのも新しいドレスです。男性用もたくさん新色入りましたのでお楽しみに!

As for what's happening locally, the Annual County Fair is here! My kids always look forward to this event so we all went to enjoy the opening night... a very special treat for the kids (especially on a school night)!

We did the traditional rides, like on this Ferris wheel (photo), and bumper cars (no merry-go-round this year!) I like the Ferris wheel since it's always exciting and you get a sense of place from a high place.

さて、今年もやって来ました、恒例のカウンティー・フェア!子供達が大好きなこのイベント、昨日木曜日が初日だったので早速行ってまいりました。そして一番最初に向ったのがこの観覧車。遊園地のシンボル的なこの乗り物に先ず乗り街を眺める、というのが楽しいです。ヒロには高いビルが殆ど有りませんからね～！この後は子供達の時間。楽しかったみたいデス♪

この写真奥に見えるのが、恒例のメリーモナークフェスティバルが開催されるイーディス・カナカオレ・テニス・スタジアムです♪

Hilo Sunset!

Just wanted to share with you the beautiful colors we in Hilo can admire at the end of the day.
Yeah, yeah, it's not as postcard perfect as in Kona, where you get that tropical sunset that everybody dreams of, but it's still super pretty don't you think?!
Well, a hui hou and happy pau hana time!

今日はヒロの自宅から見れる夕焼けをお見せしちゃいます♪
コナのようなロマンティックで皆が思い描くようなお日様と海と椰子の木と…という訳ではありませんが、この雲に反映された夕焼けの色は自然の芸術そのもの。刻一刻と変化していく色を慌ててキャッチしました！

Nice Visit on Friday!

I'm so glad Aloha Friday has arrived (finally).
It's always nice to get visitors to the office, and boy, did we have some exciting bunch come up here today!

Big Island artists share their talents and treasures in an exclusive event to set the stage for the Moku O Keawe International Hula Festival in November.

2007年9月22日、土曜日、18：30から新しく生まれ変わったワイコロア・ビーチ・マリオット・リゾート＆スパにて「セレブレート・モク・オ・キアヴェ」と称した素晴しいイベントが開催されます！

こちらは11月に行われるフラのイベント、モク・オ・キアヴェ・インターナショナル・フェスティバルの前夜祭的なイベントです。なんといってもハワイ島を代表するデザイナー、シグ・ゼーンとあのティファニーがコラボするファッション・ショーが目玉イベントでしょう！そして特別にデザインされた限定モク・オ・キアヴェ・ティファニー・ネックレスがこの場で発表されます！このネックレスもシグとティファニーのコラボなんですよ～！すごいでしょ♪
